Human Rights Day, December 10, 2012
  • We issued a Press Release to help raise consciousness about the human rights violations in our city and region, in particular the discrimination and inequality that affects Black women and their families. We announced our work with organizers in Philadelphia and elsewhere to host a World Court of Women Against Poverty in Philadelphia October 18-20, 2013.
  • Essential Pittsburgh Human Rights Day Interview with New Voices representatives 90.5FM WESA.
  • Philadelphia held a press conference where they announced that they will be calling for Philadelphia to become a "Human Rights City," following Pittsburgh's lead. We will work with them to put pressure on leaders around the state to hold to their commitments to human rights.

Looking Ahead:
We’ll be working during New Voices’ Women of Color Herstory Month to help people learn about the world courts and how to get involved. Watch for upcoming events and opportunities especially during this time.

Save the Date! International Women's Day is Friday, March 8, 2013. We will be organizing an event to celebrate and challenge! Stay tuned!
